Preparing the upper terrace of Striysky Part for such a grand event as the General County Exhibition of 1894 required a tremendous amount of work. Not a single square meter of the 150,000 square meter site was left untouched. Moreover, an additional 100,000 cubic meters of soil had to be brought in for the construction of a stadium. The stands and the 3,524 square meter wooden stadium, designed and built according to the project of engineer Hryroyi Pezhansky, were located at the end of the exhibition area, to the right of the main alley in the direction of Poniatovsky Street (now U. Samchuk Street), between the current Kozelnytsky and Styisky Streets. The stand, which could hold 8,000 people, were built starting on February 6, 1894, with the involvement of carpenter G. Müller. Lviv's first stadium opened to visitors on July 14, 1894. After the end of the exhibition, the construction was dismantled, as were most other exhibition pavilions and buildings.
