"This is a studio photo of the Hromov family - my mother's family. My mother and sister are in this picture. The girl in the high row is my mother's cousin and my goddaughter. My grandmother Tania is on the left in the front row. Next to her is a girl with a teddy bear. This is my aunt Antonina, wearing a red dress that was brought from Germany. The second girl in the front row is my mother Nadiia, and on the right is Aunt Vera, my grandmother's sister. She is wearing a mustard-colored woolen dress, which she sewed herself.

The man in the photo is my grandmother's nephew Viktor. He wears, as they said then, "a shirt with an ornament". It is a linen embroidered shirt, but such things weren't called vyshyvankas then."
